Welcome Packet

Once you have been screened by filling out my questionnaire, and if I decided you can adopt one of my precious loved ones, you will receive a “Welcome Packet” to include the below:
  1. Your puppy will be checked by a certified veterinarian at 3-5-days-old and at that time dew claws will be removed, and your puppy will be checked for a heart murmur, cleft pallet, and open fontanel.
  2. Your puppy will receive his/her first set of shots at 6-weeks-old and thereafter a continuation of shots, depending on when you and I agree for your AKK to come to its permanent home.
  3. You will receive a “Guarantee of Good Health” document which informs you of the health guarantee I offer for your puppy.
  4. Your puppy will receive a microchip at no additional charge.
  5. You will receive a notification of the Factor VII results of both parents.
  6. You will receive an Adult Exam Form. This form enables me to be made aware of any issues that may arise in the offspring from my AKK’s.
  7. You will receive People and AKK Communicating Together which is basically a socialization chart. At ALAKKAWA KENNELS, I believe in socialization and appropriate conditioning according to the age of the puppy.
  8. Your puppy will be placed on worming meds conducted at 3, 6 & 8 weeks.
  9. Your puppy will be trained to go “potty” outside. Please keep in mind that I diligently work extra hard to take your puppy outside on a regular basis; taking him/her to the same location on my property, repeating the word, “potty” continuously to condition him/her for this line of behavior. However, I cannot guarantee once your puppy comes to live with you that he/she will not have accidents in your home and on your floor. See the PUPPY STAGES button for a further explanation on housebreaking. Please keep in mind that puppy pads have never worked for me and I do not recommend them – this is my personal preference. However, if you choose to use puppy pads, then this is your freedom of choice and if they work for you – then GREAT! Congrats!
  10. You will receive photographs galore! I LOVE taking pictures of all my animals. Therefore, I will constantly send photographs (via email) of your new AKK. You may also check my website as often as you like since I post a good many pictures here as well. I will send special photos with frames and matting so you can print if you wish.
  11. You will receive professional, constant, non-stop communication with me throughout the life of your puppy. I am a firm believer in communication.
  12. You will receive a “Schedule of Events” form that specifies outings, when your puppy was exposed to other animals, when your puppy began his/her weaning process, when your puppy was introduced to puppy food, and most importantly all vet visit including dates for each of your next vet visits, etc. Please be sure to check with your personal vet to ensure they keep with the same schedule.
